Wingcopter and TAF Industries received by Chancellor Merz in light of planned production scale-up of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones in Germany
Berlin, Germany, April 14, 2026 – Two months after signing a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint venture with TAF Industries, one of Ukraine’s largest manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the initiative has reached an important milestone to turn this vision into reality.
We are proud to have been invited by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to display our drones at the Chancellor’s Office during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Berlin for the latest German-Ukrainian intergovernmental consultations.
This highlights not only the relevance of our work, but also the growing strategic commitment of Germany and Europe to strengthen security and resilience through sovereign, European-built solutions.
The joint venture’s initial goal is to produce TAF Industries‘ reconnaissance drones in Germany under the “Build with Ukraine” framework, strengthening the resilience of critical defence production for Ukraine, ensuring continuity of supply under wartime conditions, and diversifying industrial risks by expanding manufacturing capacity into a safer and more resilient industrial environment in Germany.
With clear demand for an initial order, the joint venture is now moving quickly towards securing binding commitments and commencing production.
We will continue to push forward — with urgency — to enable rapid scaling of production of all kinds of dual-use drones in Germany and to support Ukraine’s ability to defend itself and strengthen Europe’s security and resilience.
